About Me

March 2006 - Posts

At least most of it, because of the open nature of Office Developer Conference 2006. Even for the portion which I'm most interested in... Expect to see various bloggers blogging about features they like...

So while waiting for the posts to flood the blogsphere, why not spend this time and view the keynote.

On Friday, I took half day leave to go with my ID to select tiles, cabinet finishing and colors for my house. Though this area is not my department, as I cannot visualise how my house would look like, tt was a very fun process, as both my fiancee and myself bounced ideas with my ID, joking away.

In the evening, I went to cell group, after being absent from it because of work, renovation, and meeting my neighbours. My cell group prayed a prayer of blessings over my life. I told God in my heart that the only blessing I want now is His righteousness, and intimacy, hence while they prayed, I ask God to just consume me with His fire. And my shoulder felt strangely warm... And my heart softens, as the feeling just affirm me that God never once left me alone, even though I turned my back towards Him.

This year started in a bad note spiritually. Though the church is already marching ahead with God, I was bitter with things that happen in my life. Many times, I just attended church as just another service, but recently, God has been tugging at me.

When God opened the door for me to buy a flat at redhill, I told God (even though I wasn't walking with Him at all) that I want to let God reign over the house. Many things developed before I got the keys. I got in touch with my new neighbours, and were meeting out with them to discuss renovation stuff, consoldating orders to have a bigger bargaining power over the suppliers. But when I get the keys, all I did was pray a short prayer that God will use this house for His purpose, instead of praying that prayer everytime I enter the house.

I told God that I really want His presence to be in the house, even before renovation begins, so that the renovation workers know something is different about this house, my neighbours that would be visiting would know something is different in this house. But I did nothing about this...

Then this sunday service talk about portals. Nope, not portals that SharePoint provides you with, but a portal into Heaven. I responded to the message and I want a open portal in my house. I don't want to be a smoking Christian, but a Christian whose prayer is like fire that burns a hole in Heaven... But I also knows that my heart is deceitful, and only God knows what my heart really wants. But at the end of the service, I know my spirit man responded to Him as well.

But this time, I cannot rely on my own strength, as I know it will fail for sure. But I will trust and commit my plans to Him.

I've posted in this post that I am going to try using paper prototyping (though it is a small part of the entire methodology) to illustrate the system I'm proposing, and let them have a clear idea what to expect.

Well, at first, the initial meeting went ok... I showed her the screens of the system, and explained to her all the different functionality of the system. As I am not studying how they react to the UI of the system, I didn't give her a pencil to "click" on the UI. I know that she needed some time to get used to the paper drawings... At the end of the day, I told her I was trying out the paper prototyping methodology, and asked her how was the process. She said it was ok. And she mentioned that other vendors uses powerpoint to present.

I gave her a copy of the drawings, and she studied it and talked to her users to firm up the requirements. After I received the updates, I made changes to the drawings and met up with her yesterday. The meeting started with a question. "What is this methodology again?" This took me by surprise, and I answered, "Paper Prototyping". The next statement was the icing on the cake... She said, "OK, I'll ask my other venders to give me paper prototyping next time..." :)

As the meeting ended, both of us were very happy, as our requirements are very firm, she knows exactly what to expect from me, and I know what I have to deliver to her. Maybe I can use this to ask my boss for a ThinkPad Tablet

Most of you should have receive the prompt to upgrade when you connect to the service today. If you haven't, please upgrade it.. The memory usage seems to be much more optimised, response seems to be much better for me. I remember once that the memory leakage was so bad that windows live alone took up 130 mb ram, and the machine is crawling very slowly until i kill the process. It's beta, so it is understandable...
