Anybody interested in F1? esp it is coming to Singapore. To drop by http://www.singaporef1.tv , it will be a great place to gather same minded people together.
Cheers
what i am interested in mostly with the local Formula One is how the government will overcome all the infrastructure and economy hurdles by staging a race right in the heart of CBD - with a year left.
Good luck to anybody having a heart attack in the vicinity during race week.

A year on, and I am happy to state that my skepticism and fears about not having enough time to meet construction deadlines can be alleviated. Looks like in the last 5 months when I saw everything still in pieces and sand, the contractors have managed to pull amazing construction feats to complete all these on time.
Of course, I have no doubt the folks doing the actual physical work were pushed beyond their limits. I wonder why that sounds so familiar.... ;-)
Anyway, I managed to get a bird's eye view of a quarter of the track - 33 storeys up Raffles City tower - on Friday's practice run. The cars were still loud and clear even so high up and behind the shield of glass. When I got down to the ground level I decided to get as close to the track as possible, and immediately knew why. I wasn't so much hearing the sound as I was feeling it.
Now I understand why people would rather watch races live rather than get all-comfy coverage and commentary behind a TV.
Of cos, hearing the sounds of those engine roar pass simply charges up your adrenalin and make you feel involved in the event. It's a pity that the tickets are rather expensive to come by... Wish I was drafted to do some duties for the event and I can get close to the action...

You could have volunteered to be a track marshal....
:-D
But anyway, a truly awesome job by Fernando Alonso after his bad mechanical luck yesterday. He owes N.Piquet a meal.
